This is the first of the 4th of July recipes.
Although I am Australian, not American, I still wanted to do some of the treats.
So some of you American readers out there can give these a whirl for the Fourth, but if you don't live in America then I'm sure that you can still try them!
So the first is this little Rice Krispie Treats.
So we're going to need:
6 cups of Rice Krispies or Rice Bubbles
3 tablespoons of butter
40-45 marshmallows (depends on the size) I used 45 Pascall marshmallows
First you're going to melt the butter in a large, deep saucepan on low heat.
Then stir in the marshmallows until melted.
Gradually add in the Rice Krispies or Bubbles until combined (it will become very sticky).
Line a slice pan with grease proof paper and add the mixture.
Pat down the mixture and refrigerate until hard.
Cut into squares and store in an air tight container.
I did get a little lazy with mine, and didn't add the stripes of different colour (blue, white, and red)
but because I used pink marshmallows, the treats turned pink.
