Celebrating your 18th Birthday with a Pub Crawl is one of the best ideas you could think of.
My two girlfriends and I started the train ride before meeting up with everyone. Once everyone arrived we chatted on the train and a creepy man with one arm came up and asked my friend for a picture, which we thought was hilarious, but she (and even the photo taker) not so much hahaha.
We started at Central station in Sydney, and the first bar we went into was The Exhibition Hotel, we walked in there for about 15 minutes where we downed pints of cider and played pokies with the birthday boy.
Second bar on the list was The Courthouse hotel where we sat on lounges and chatted about how badly we wanted nachos. We also learnt a new recipe: pasta, butter, and salt.
The Cliffdive was probably one of the coolest bars we went to, it was underground and set up like a tiki sorta theme. we ordered vodka raspberries and drank piña coladas out of pineapples while waiting for more people to turn up and gossiping with friends in the bathroom about boys, haha ;)
The Madison Hotel was great fun, after half of us went in, we ordered drinks -- wine and sculled it to the bartender's amazement and proceeded to find the bathrooms in the maze of the place. We found it and then went and played pokies where I decided that I'm not very good at them because I have no idea what I'm doing. A friend of ours won $1.30 which was as exciting even though it wasn't very much.
We ran through Hyde Park like crazy people jumping over hedges and dancing down the street before we went to Frankie's Pizza.
Frankie's pizza... well that was an experience. After waiting for about 20 minutes for all of us to get in, we finally found everyone. There were pizzas everywhere. Little did most of our group know that you had to buy the pizzas, so lots of us was going up to people's pizzas and stealing a piece quite obviously and the pizza owners' looks were priceless. We drank apple drinks from this friendly bartender, and ate more pizza before we left, went back in, and then finally left again. We all waited out the front, sitting on milk crates with garbage bins as arm rests for about 15 minutes for everyone to comeback before we decided we'd go to side bar. So we all headed to the train station and caught a train back to central.
We had a pitt stop at 7/11 for Krispy Kreme donuts and coffee before heading to side bar.
Only half of us actually got inside because they're apparently fairly strict with ID at Side Bar. Once inside we all danced and drank more vodka raspberries before we left for the last train. We all sprinted for the train because if we missed this 12:23 train we would have to wait until 4AM!!
We all got on the train and managed to stay awake by speaking french and german, and exchanging funny stories before everyone except a few of us got off. My friend and I immediately turned the chairs into beds and fell asleep for the whole trip home until we get woken up by our friend telling us we were stopped at our stop. So we jumped up and raced out of the train as fast as we could, looking back to see our friend on the train laughing her head off haha
All in all, it was a great night
