** This was me the entire trip -- crying **
Straight after my Medi110 final, I trekked it down to HMAS Creswell, where I saw this one graduate from NEOC 54! After not seeing her for a month, I was a mess, there were tears flowing the whole weekend.
We spent the first night watching the sunset ceremony with marching bands and firearms, followed by a coctail party filled with hors d'Ĺ“urves and chanpagne. I got to meet all her Navy friends and could finally put faces to names. Dinner that night was filled with wine and stories of Fin growing up, and the family trip around Australia.
The next day, we woke up bright and early for her actual graduation. She was the left guard, and was yelling commands left right and centre. We later on hung out just the two of us in her room for an hour which was really nice. We hadn't been able to be silly and just talk like we always would for a long time, and it felt so familiar being able to talk to her in the flesh. We went and got her hair done for her ball, and ate ice cream straight from the tub (a little thing we do) like she had never left. But we ultimately knew she was going again. To say the absolute least, there were a lot of tears on the way home as I was driving away from her, not sure when I'd see her again.
Having a best friend in RAN is tough, but seeing you graduate made my year - thank you for the best and most emotional 24 hours, and for serving our country - love you and super proud of you!!
