TRAVEL ITINERARY: PARIS 2017

I hope I'm like plenty of other people when I say I like to see everything in a city, so here's my itinerary for our little trip in Paris! If you do follow this on your trip to Paris, be sure to start you day the minute the first venue opens!

Day One:
Catch the Metro to Barbes Rochechouart station. Visit Sacré-Cœur, Saint-Pierre de Montmartre, Musée de Montmartre, Place du Terre, and the Moulin Rouge. Be sure to stop at Maxim's and buy a poppy petal macaroon, they are seriously SO good! before catching metro line 12 from Abbesses to Paris Saint Lazare, and then change onto metro line 3 to Opéra. Visit Palais Garnier and la Madeleine. Catch a bus route 52 from Matignon Saint Honore to Charles de Gaulle Étoile, where you can take a quick walk to the Arc de Triomphe (be sure to climb it). Catch a metro line 6 from Charles de Gaulle to Bir Hakeim station where you can climb the Eiffel Tower. Be sure to get the raspberry macaroons at the top, they are seriously to die for!

Day Two:
Catch the Metro to Palais Royal, where you can see the Louvre. I got there when it first opened, and there was barely a line! If you want to see the Mona Lisa, definitely use a map that place is a maze! Catch a Metro line 1 to Hôtel Ville, which after a small walk brings you to Centre Georges Pompidou. Once you've been in, take the bus line 29 from Centre Georges Pompidou to Place des Vosges. Around that station is the Maison de Victor Hugo, Place de la Bastille, Opéra Bastille, and Places des Vosges. There is also a little gelato shop on Place de la Bastille that has the world's best mango and hazelnut ice cream!

Day Three:
This day is a little shorter. Take the metro to Invalides station, which is a super short walk to Musée Rodin, and from there head over to the Grand Palais, and Petit Palais. Definitely, walk over Pont Alexandre III while you're there before making your way over to Parc Monceau. Parc Monceau is such a gorgeous park, and I would encourage everyone to stop in and see it- even just to walk through.

Day Four:
Take the Metro to Concorde station, where you can see the Place de la concorde and then head over to Musée de l'Orangie. This museum is by far my favourite museum I have ever been to! The round rooms surrounded by Claude Monet's Les Nymphéas is so mind boggling and gives you a sense of peace, it's so gorgeous. Downstairs there was the most amazing "American's Age of Anxiety" exhibit! From Musée de l'Orangie, take a walk around the Tuileries Gardens before heading over to Musée d'Orsay. Catch a metro line 1 from Concorde station to Louvre-Rivoli station, where you can walk across Pont Neuf before seeing Conciergerie and Sainte-Chapelle. Be sure to go up the stairs in Sainte-Chapelle, you'll not regret it! Head over to Notre Dame and after you've gone inside it, be sure to head around to the left of the building where you can climb to the bells of the cathedral.

Day Five:
Take a RER C to Gare de Versailles Château Rive Gauche. It's a short walk from the gorgeous train station to Versailles. Keep time in mind as the line is often super long that you need to buy tickets from the building on the left side of the yard before getting into the line. Walk around the gorgeous palace and gardens before ending the day back in Paris with dinner at Café Charlot by le Marais in the 3rd Arr. They seriously have the best cocktails, and burgers! Ask for two cocktails each and watch the waiter's faces!
