I'm lucky enough to have the best church family and they're is seriously the so rad! The families that opened their hearts and homes to me are some of the most beautiful people in my life. There's mums, dads, teachers (a LOT), nurses, students, ministers, carpenters, OTs, professional criers, and mini playground-players, and that's only the beginning - they offer me advice, let me play with their babies, and more importantly they make me feel safe. Just being in their presence puts a smile on my face and fills my heart with joy. If I've ever spoken to you on a Sunday evening for the last few months you are one of those people.
Lots of people kind of thinks it's hard to be friends with people that are already married with kids - that they just wear the 'mum' or 'dad' hat and treat you like you're 5. But the families of Bulli Anglican are seriously the best! I feel like I have made some crazy good friends and I can't believe I had gone so long without knowing them.
There's a stereotype with going to church that it is all hymns, boring Bible readings, and Bible studies where we all sit in a circle with a single spotlight (hah Kate ;) ). But I love spending time with my church family every Sunday evening! Some of the women have become like my big sisters - people I can turn to and ask for advice, people that can make me feel like I can belong to a community.
There's something special when you share something so personal like faith with people, it's a very sensitive topic. But seeing these girls every day for the past week has been a total blessing. And it's so reassuring to know that there is no judgement in anything that we do and that we are all equal. We're all at such different points in our lives, but we can put everything aside and still share such an amazing night together.
You guys know who you are. Anyone stepping through the door, singing at the top of their lungs, and seeing the smiles on people's faces on Sunday evenings at BAC is one of those people. So know how important that place is in my heart you are held because I'm grateful for each and every one of you for encouraging me to grow in faith and ultimately becoming a better person.
