GERRINGONG FALLS

After my friend found this place in a book, we decided that after work, we were going to see if we can find it.

Gerringong falls is in the middle of no where to say the least. You walk for about 10km to the waterfall, without any idea if you're going in the right direction. We stopped after about an hour of walking because we were positive we had somehow missed the turn off. We topped up our sunscreen, while my friend checked the directions. we weren't even sure how far we had walked! I ran ahead a little, only to find about 100m later was the turn off!

After the long walk you find yourself right at the top of the waterfall, plunging 150m onto a rocky surface, so we were very careful to walk where it wasn't slippery. If you do go to this waterfall, you will run a pretty high chance of being there alone, not once did we see a sign of any person (apart from a car that somehow managed to get through the locked gate, and drive straight past us in the desert heat). You'll have the whole place to yourself!

Definitely a must do, but be sure to leave plenty of time for walking and make sure to get started before it gets too hot, there isn't much shade on that walk!
